Emergency travel documents

Emergency Travel Document is issued in replacement of expired, lost or stolen passports to enable the applicants to return to Azerbaijan where a new passport can be applied for. 
To obtain Emergency Travel Document in replacement of expired passports, applicants should submit the following:

- Original and photocopy of the expired passport
- Two recent passport size photographs (mat)
- Application form (can be downloaded here 2)
- Consular fee of 40.00 $ (proof of payment)

PLEASE DO NOT USE A STAPLER WHEN PREPARING YOUR APPLICATION.

Emergency Travel Document is issued within three working days.
To obtain Emergency Travel Document in replacement of lost or stolen passports, applicants should submit the following:

- Police reference letter
- Original and photocopy of the National Identification Card (plastic card)
- Four passport size photographs (mat)
- Application form (can be downloaded here 3)
- Consular fee of 40.00 $ (proof of payment)

Emergency Travel Document is issued within three working days if the applicant submits the original of the National Identification Card.
Emergency Travel Document is valid for one month only. It allows the holder to travel only to the Republic of Azerbaijan. In order to obtain a new passport, emergency travel document should be submitted to the Passport Registration Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan.

Children under 18 can also be included into their parent’s Emergency Travel Document*. The following documents should be submitted to the Embassy:

- Four passport size photographs of each child
- Original and photocopy of Birth Certificate(s)
- Original and photocopy of Marriage Certificate
- Consular fee of 40.00 $ (proof of payment)

* If a child is included into the Emergency Travel Document of one parent, the other parent, if applicable, should provide a letter of consent.

Please note that every application for Emergency Travel Document is considered individually by the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
